RADA BEACH

San juan night 2025

The City Council celebrates the Night of San Juan with the Quemas competition, a concert by Rasel and Sara from 'Las Chuches', and a magical market.

The party will take place on La Rada beach and will kick off at 9:00 p.m. with a DJ set, a concert by Rasel and Sara of Las Chuches, and the 45th San Juan Mustache Burning Contest. The magical market will be held on the seafront from June 20th to 23rd.

Estepona City Council announces that next Monday, June 23rd, the eve of San Juan, the traditional "San Juan Night Festival" 2025 will be held on La Rada beach, near the Post Office.

The night of San Juan will begin at 9:00 p.m. with performances by DJs Monchi, Poyito, and FSC, and will continue at 10:00 p.m. with a concert by singer Rasel and SARA (former member of the group 'Las Chuches').

The 45th "Burning of the Mustaches of San Juan" Contest will begin at 9:00 p.m., with the jury's tour of the participating burnings. All of them will be located near the monument to La Peseta.

Associations and residents build the well-known "juás," dolls and figures made of rags and other materials, which express criticism or mockery of well-known figures and are destined to be burned at the stake. The contest, organized by the City Council, will recognize the originality, atmosphere, and popularity of the participating burnings, with prizes of €1,000, €750, and €500 for the top three finishers, as well as three runner-up prizes of €300.

The "juás" are set alight at midnight, at the beginning of San Juan Night, when, following an ancient custom, Estepona residents gather on the beach to dip their toes. According to tradition, touching the sea water on San Juan Night brings good fortune throughout the year and banishes bad omens.

Magical Market

Coinciding with the San Juan festivities, the City Council has organized a magical market that will take place on the seafront from Friday, June 20th to Monday, June 23rd.

This market will focus on magic and will feature decor and atmosphere appropriate to the theme. There will be 29 stalls in total, offering crafts, children's attractions, play areas, food courts, falconry displays, and merchandise.

The market will open at 6 p.m. and will be located between the Peseta Monument and the Central Beach beach bar.

This market contributes to the promotion of artisan activity while also being a draw for the city during these holidays, coinciding with the program and activities that will take place for the celebration of San Juan Night.
